Do you have untapped musical potential on your campus? If you have students taking piano lessons, you may have novice accompanists waiting to be discovered. K. K. Friar has created a workshop detailing how to successfully integrate student accompanists into a school choral program. Utilizing student accompanists can increase your instructional impact, diversify your choirs' performance experiences, and expand awareness of your choral program. Participants are welcome to bring repertoire to discuss!

- Learn teaching strategies that can help you encourage and support novice accompanists in their skill development.
- Identify barriers to working with novice accompanists in a high school setting.
- Explore repertoire to learn how student accompanists of varying skill levels can contribute to successful musical outcomes.
- Examine the performance pitfalls that challenge novice accompanists.
- Discuss your experiences of working with or serving as a student accompanist.
